President Arif Saeed remarked that Pakistan had witnessed a golden era of sports in the past, during which it simultaneously won world championships in cricket, hockey, snooker and squash. He acknowledged that ups and downs are a part of sports and while no one stays at the top forever, continuous efforts to improve are necessary.
He further said that sports and athletes in Pakistan should get the recognition they deserve. Arif Saeed while addressing the officials of various sports federations urged them to prioritize their proposals for the promotion of sports at international and national level during the first 100 days and next year. “These proposals will be key to outline actionable measures for the growth and development of sports in Pakistan,” he said.
