More than 100 children lost their lives due to road closures in Parachinar.

In a tragic development, over 100 children in Parachinar have lost their lives due to lack of access to medical care as the road has been closed for over two months, severely hampering essential services. And the ongoing crisis in Karma has increased.

The situation has sparked protests as citizens have demanded immediate action to reopen access roads. They are protesting against the road blocking for the sixth day.

According to Geo NewsThe blockade, which has been going on for more than two months, has deprived residents of food items and medical supplies.

Agha Muzamil, chairman of Upper Karam tehsil, said: “Residents are unable to access basic necessities such as health care and food due to road closures. More than 100 children have died due to lack of medical assistance.”

In response, the Deputy Commissioner of Karam announced that a Grand Jirga had arrived in the district to initiate peace talks aimed at resolving the long-standing tribal conflict. The government hopes that these talks will lead to stability and the reopening of roads.

In order to highlight the plight of the residents of Parachinar, solidarity demonstrations have also been held outside Karachi’s Tzaam Chowrangi and Lahore Press Club organized by Majlis Wahdat Muslimeen.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Adviser on Information Barrister Saif said that a special police force has been approved to secure Parachinar Road.

He stressed that the government’s goal is to find a lasting and permanent solution to the centuries-old tribal conflict that has caused significant unrest in the region.

The ongoing tribal conflict in Parachinar has blocked all major and minor roads for the past two and a half months, claiming more than 100 lives and paralyzing the district. The situation remains tense, with residents and officials grappling with the damage caused by the prolonged blockade.
