Christopher Nolan has revealed the title of the new film, defying all speculations.

The title of Christopher Nolan’s new film has been released.

British-American filmmaker Christopher Nolan has put to rest all the buzz about his next project.

On December 23, Universal Studios announced the title of Nolan’s upcoming film.

“Christopher Nolan’s next film The Odyssey is a legendary action epic shot across the globe using brand new IMAX film technology,” the studio said.

“The film brings Homer’s seminal story to IMAX movie screens for the first time and opens in theaters everywhere on July 17, 2026.”

The Odyssey, an epic poem written by Homer in ancient Greek times, follows Odysseus’ journey home after the Trojan War.

The 54-year-old director has never worked on a story that revolves around goddesses and other mythological events.

So, the project will mark a significant shift for the two-time Oscar-winning filmmaker, who is best known for directing sci-fi and period genres such as Dunkirk, Interstellar, Inception and The Prestige.

The centuries-old epic has been adapted and reinterpreted in numerous films such as Mario Camerini’s Ulysses, 1954, starring Kirk Douglas and Silvana Mangano.

The adaptation will feature a star-studded cast including Tom Holland, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o and Charlize Theron for the first time in Nolan’s project.

Meanwhile, Anne Hathaway, Matt Damon, Robert Pattinson will rejoin the director.

The new project follows Christopher Nolan’s historic win at the Oscars for his work on the 2023 hit Oppenheimer following a decade-long career.
