Although inter-religious marriages have been around for centuries in India, they still surprise people. And if it’s a celebrity who gets married in an interfaith wedding, the news makes headlines. For example, actress Sonakshi Sinha got married to Zaheer Iqbal earlier this year and it is still making headlines. Recently, veteran actor Mukesh Khanna created a controversy by commenting on Sonakshi and her parents since the actress married a Muslim. However, both Sonakshi and her father Shatrughan Sinha ended the controversy by responding to them. While Sonakshi politely asked Mukesh Khanna not to comment on her upbringing, her father Shatrughan said that his daughter does not need anyone’s certificate to prove that she is a Hindu.
