Jay-Z has gotten himself into a mess with Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs.
A woman who filed a sexual assault lawsuit against Sean “Daddy” Combs has amended her complaint to include Jay-Z, whose real name is Sean Carter.
The allegations stem from an after party at the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards.
The accused, identified as Jane Doe, has claimed that she was 13 years old at the time of the alleged incident.
According to the amended civil suit, Doe says she felt ill after drinking at the party, then wandered into a bedroom where she was attacked.
He alleged that Carter attacked him first, followed by Coombs, before he was able to escape.
Carter, who was initially referred to as “Celebrity A” in the original filing, strongly denied the allegations in a statement. CNN.
He called the claims “heinous” and urged that the matter be dealt with criminally rather than civilly.
“These charges are so heinous that I urge you to file a criminal complaint, not a civil one!! Anyone who commits such a crime against a minor should be locked up, wouldn’t you agree? Carter said
The lawsuit also alleges that Doe’s legal team reached out to Carter for mediation before amending the complaint.
According to the filing, Carter rejected the request for arbitration and, in response, planned a “harassment, bullying and intimidation conspiracy” against Doe’s attorneys.
In his statement, Carter dismissed the mediation effort as “an attempt at blackmail” and criticized Doe’s attorney.
“This lawyer, who I’ve done a little research on, seems to be the epitome of this kind of theatrics!” Carter said.
Meanwhile, Combs, who already faces multiple civil lawsuits, pleaded not guilty to recent criminal charges of sex trafficking, fraud, and related crimes. His legal team has denied all the allegations leveled against him.
