“She didn’t like me wearing makeup,” Adams recalls. “She’s like, ‘I just want you to look like mom, not like Amy Adams.’ And I was like, ‘You got it.’
Over the years, Adams respected her daughter’s wishes, opting for a natural look wherever she went. “I mean, I put on some mascara,” she laughs, “but yeah, I wouldn’t wear makeup because she wanted me to just be a mom.”
Now a teenager, Aviana has turned her attention to her mother’s wardrobe. “I’m usually the least manicured in my house,” says Adams. “But lately, at my daughter’s request, I’ve been working on an upgrade. She’s like, ‘You can’t wear workout clothes if you’re not working out, mom,'” Adams said with a laugh. “‘You can’t just do the fun part of athleisure.'”
At home with husband Darren LeGallo and Aviana, Adams admits she’s often the last to get ready. “I’ll help my daughter get ready. My husband will get ready,” she says. “I’ll help him, I’ll run around or braid his hair. And I’m always the last one to get ready … usually [on my end] It includes a ponytail, maybe a hat, and I think it’s been that way since he was born.”
The family recently attended the Toronto International Film Festival together in September to debut the film. Night dogMarking Aviana’s first red carpet experience. “It was really great to share it with him,” Adams says. “I just love it.”
Adams also described how Aviana showed support during a nerve-wracking moment. “I get very nervous about public speaking, and she’s never been around me [in those moments]. She was like, ‘Mom, you do this all the time. You got it!’ She was supporting me, it was so sweet.

In a 2013 interview with Vanity FairAdams described Le Gallo as a primary influence in his life, highlighting the mutual respect in their relationship. “He is a true artist, and has a great sense of integrity,” Adams shared.
They later got married in a private ceremony in May 2015, 14 years after they met. According to peopletheir wedding was described as an intimate ceremony with close friends and family.
