LAHORE: Deputy Commissioner Syed Musa Raza has stepped up efforts to make Lahore a clean and attractive city, stepping up steps to ensure the success of the city-wide cleanliness mission.
On Saturday, during an extensive tour of the Ring Road and its surroundings, he carefully reviewed the cleanliness measures on the route from Babu Sabu to Lahore Airport.
He was accompanied by Chief Executive Officer (CEO) MCL Shahid Abbas Kathia, CEO WMC Babar Sahib Din, Deputy
CEO WMC and other authorities.
During the visit, the DC appreciated the dedication and hard work of the LWMC teams for maintaining high standards of sanitation in the area.
He stressed the importance of proper waste disposal and issued a stern warning against burning of waste, saying strict legal action would be taken against violators.
The Deputy Commissioner directed that all waste should be transported to designated dumping sites to avoid environmental and health hazards.
To further improve sanitation, the DC emphasized better sanitation practices in major roads, industrial areas, neighborhoods and markets.
He also urged to start door-to-door awareness campaign to sensitize the citizens about the importance of cleanliness and their role in keeping the city clean.
The Deputy Commissioner highlighted that these improved efforts will not only improve the aesthetics of Lahore but also contribute to a healthier and more livable environment for the residents.
The Deputy Commissioner reiterated his commitment to fulfill Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s vision of transforming Lahore into a model city known for its cleanliness, beauty and charm.
