The author claims that the PTI and PPP are most likely to rule Pakistan in the future because the public has so much emotional investment in these two institutions and the Muslim League (N) led by Shehbaz Sharif. The same cannot be said for . Emotional capital can be a good thing, but in today’s fast-paced world, rational capital can be a far better thing to look for and find.
The current government is a ‘rational government’ or at least trying to be one. We know the stakes are high and that we lag behind almost every state on key indicators. Therefore, it makes sense that we should invest in and support a strong, agenda-driven, rational government for the long-term prosperity and development of this country. We have to shed the ’emotional baggage’ that we have been carrying for too long.
