Islamabad Accountability Court Judge Nasir Javed Rana ordered the arrest of Bushra Bibi.
The court upheld the non-bailable arrest warrant of Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi in the £190 million reference case and ordered the authorities concerned to produce her before the court for the next hearing on December 9. Hearing in Adiala Jail on Friday.
During the hearing, Imran Khan was present in the court while Bushra Bibi did not appear in the proceedings. Furthermore, the defendants did not file their responses under Section 342 of the Criminal Code, which requires them to answer questions related to the charges. The court issued an arrest warrant for Bushra Bibi and ordered to present all the facts at the next hearing. The hearing was subsequently adjourned without further proceedings until Monday, December 9.
Speaking to the media outside the court, Advocate Faisal Chaudhry demanded the Chief Justice to take notice of the matter which he termed as an ongoing violation of the law and constitution. He insisted on taking immediate action on the D Chowk firing incident and asked the Chief Justice to remedy the contempt of court orders. On Thursday, Special Judge Central Shah Rukh Arjamand issued an arrest warrant for Bushra Bibi for not appearing in court for 10 consecutive hearings of the Tosha Khana 2 case.
