LAHORE (PR): Provincial Minister for Industry and Commerce Chaudhry Shafi Hussain and American Consul General Kirsten K. Hawkins met on Friday at the office of the Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT) to discuss the promotion of trade relations between Punjab and the United States. Considered.
The provincial minister informed the US Consul General about the measures being taken to promote investment and quality technical education. He also discussed the investment opportunities in various sectors of Punjab. American Consul General Ms. Kirsten K. Hawkins appreciated the investment promotion initiatives and establishment of business facilitation centers in Punjab. He acknowledged that the tourist and historical places of Punjab are worth visiting.
The provincial minister said that he would welcome American cooperation in the promotion of technical education in Punjab. He said that there are vast investment opportunities in the Special Economic Zones (SEZs) of the province. Production of solar panels and promotion of electric vehicles are the top priorities of the government in Punjab. Garments City is being built in Quaid-e-Azam Business Park Sheikhupura to promote the textile sector and concrete steps have been taken to empower women economically.
Shafi said that changes are being made in the Universities Act to increase the enrollment in technical universities of Punjab, the institutes, labs and courses of TUTTA are also being upgraded and along with this the performance and financial audit of TUTTA was also done. is going
Chaudhry Shafi said that free IT short courses are being provided to children under the Chief Minister Skill Development Program. Placement of employment for those completing the training in Tevta institutes is also being arranged and business facilitation centers are also being expanded.
