A man dressed as Batman who ran from police after drunkenly crashing his car into a pole has been disqualified from driving for a year.
Lewis Blondridge, 25, of Aliwal Barracks, crashed into a telegraph pole in Meerut Road, Tidworth, on November 19.
Blonderidge fled the scene and the locals chased him in the dark.
He was found guilty of drink driving and failure to stop at the scene of a road traffic collision on Wednesday. He was sentenced to a 12-month driving disqualification and fined £600 at Swindon Magistrates’ Court.
Wiltshire Police said it took several policing teams, including police dogs, to catch Blondridge.
Upon arrest he failed a roadside breath test and was taken into custody where he provided a blood sample that was over the legal limit.
