Police in Manchester and Kent are investigating claims that current and former executives at fashion retailer Boho have been victims of stalking and surveillance.
Greater Manchester Police said it was investigating allegations of “serious disturbance” but no arrests had been made.
The Times newspaper reported alleged stalking crimes. Boho co-founder and executive chair Mahmoud Kamani, chief executive Dan Finlay and his former boss John Little were convicted.
A Boho spokesman said: “While the police investigation is ongoing it would be inappropriate to comment.”
The Information Commissioner’s Office (IOC) said Boho had alerted them to a possible surveillance incident outside the retailer’s headquarters in Manchester.
A spokesperson for the information watchdog said, “We can confirm that Boho Group has informed us of concerns regarding the discovery of surveillance equipment outside its head office.”
Greater Manchester Police said: “An investigation into the serious alarm/discomfort is ongoing with no arrests being made at this stage.”
Kent Police said it was “investigating alleged stalking offenses including locations in the Seven Oaks area”.
He said: “Inquiries are ongoing and no arrests have been made.”
Mr Little, who stepped down as chief executive of Boho in October after five years in charge, has been contacted by the BBC for comment.
Mr Little’s departure comes after Boho announced it was considering a major restructuring and possible break-up of the company, saying the business was “fundamentally undervalued”.
Separately, Frasers Group, Boohoo’s largest shareholder, has criticized the company’s management, its recent results and its business review. In an open letter to other shareholders, Frasers also said it wanted to install Mike Ashley on Boho’s board.
In response, Boohoo has said: “Frasers appear intent on disrupting Boohoo’s business judgment and acting solely in their own commercial interests.”
Mr Ashley is the founder of Sports Direct and has built a retail empire that includes House of Fraser, Flannels and Evans Cycles under parent company Fraser Group.
Shareholders will be able to vote on Frasers Group’s proposals for Boho at an extraordinary general meeting in Manchester on Friday 20 December.
