Mansehra: Chairman of Tehreek Subh Hazara Sardar Muhammad Yusuf has said that the establishment of more federation units is the need of the hour.

Addressing a function in Oghe, he said that if the federal government wants to solve the socio-economic problems faced by the people, it should initiate comprehensive legislation in the National Assembly and the Senate so that more federal units can be established.

The MNA said that more federation units should be formed on administrative basis rather than on linguistic or ethnic basis. Sardar Yusuf said that his peaceful struggle for the establishment of Hazara province has been going on for almost three decades.

“In 2010, the people of Hazara division sacrificed for a separate province,” he added. Sardar Yusuf, who is also the central vice-president of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and former federal minister for religious affairs, said that the Hazara movement, after consulting with parliamentary leaders of various political and religious parties, has decided to vote for Hazara province. The draft resolutions were submitted to the upper house and lower house of the parliament.

“We are hopeful that the National Assembly and the Senate will pass the Hazara province resolutions, as we have already discussed the matter with the parliamentary leaders of the parties represented in both houses,” he added. The former federal minister pointed out that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly passed resolutions twice in support of Hazara province.

“Political parties should respect the resolutions of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, discuss the matter in the National Assembly and the Senate, and ensure the creation of more federal units, especially Hazara province,” he stressed.
