PORT SUDAN, Sudan: At least six people were killed in shelling by Sudan’s paramilitary Rapid Support Forces on a famine-stricken displacement camp in North Darfur, activists said Monday.

According to the local resistance committee, the Zamzam camp, just south of the state capital Al-Fisher, has been under intense rocket and artillery bombardment by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) for the second day in a row.

The committee, one of hundreds of volunteer groups coordinating aid in Sudan, said the “indiscriminate” attack killed at least six people and wounded 13 others. Medical charity Doctors Without Borders (MSF) said on Monday that its teams had received eight injured people a day earlier, including women and children under the age of four with “chest injuries”. “Severe injuries such as trauma and fractures” were
