Nothing going for Bangladesh right now. The situation there is different, the government of the extreme Indian state of Tripura has allowed the country to immediately pay Rs 135 crore of electricity arrears. The balance over Bangladesh is under a power trading agreement negotiated by NTPC Limited. The Tripura government has insisted that Bangladesh pay the outstanding amount immediately. This year also in May 2024 Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL) has restricted power supply to Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) due to non-payment on time. Bangladesh has not paid for the past one year, which has led to an increase in the arrears.

The Tripura government has taken this step at a time when anti-Hindu activities are on the rise in Bangladesh. On Saturday in Brahmanbaria district Rahul from Dhaka to Kolkata was reported on the Agartala-Kolkata bus assembly. The incident took place when there was a collision between a truck and the rickshaw itself. There was no loss of life on board but a group raised their voice against India and shouted slogans at the passengers.

Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (CL) Managing Director E. Debyashish said, “Bangla Dash Power Development Board (BPBD) Corpora State Electricity Limited (SSEL) owes over Rs. We are trying our best to streamline the payment process but financial difficulties are coming up. We wrote several letters to Bangladesh. I personally met the President of Bangladesh Power Development Board. The Energy Minister has also spoken to the Union Ministry to resolve the issue. TSL is also facing financial difficulties due to outstanding E.
