The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has abolished the Saturday holiday for two months from November 30 to February 1, 2025 in the educational institutions of Islamabad.

All educational institutions will observe six working days from November 30 to February 1 and pre-notified official working hours, the notification said.
The notification was issued to the principals of model schools and colleges in Islamabad.
This decision was taken after the closure of educational institutions in Rawalpindi and Islamabad for three consecutive days during the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protests in the federal capital, which started on November 24 and ended on the evening of Wednesday, November 27. happened .
Education circles criticized the disruptions in regular studies in the twin cities and highlighted difficulties for academics and students who had to complete the syllabus within the stipulated time for the academic year.
All Pakistan Private Schools Management Association North Punjab President Abrar Ahmad Khan also complained that students are not being given adequate time to complete their regular studies.
He highlighted that the provincial education boards have decided to conduct the matriculation exams from March 4 while the winter vacation will be from December 20 to January 10.
Abrar had urged the education boards to review the matriculation exam schedule after the disruption in academic activities.
The federal capital was placed under a security lockdown amid political protests that saw clashes between police and protesters and shut down transport services and educational institutions.
