The National Assembly and the Russian Duma signed a historic cooperation agreement.

ISLAMABAD: Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and Chairman State Duma on Thursday signed a historic agreement to enhance parliamentary cooperation between State Duma, Federal Assembly of Russian Federation and National Assembly of Islamic Republic of Pakistan. The agreement was signed by Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and his counterpart Volodin Vyacheslav Victorovich, Russian in Moscow, to enhance relations between the two legislative bodies and to establish a permanent cooperation mechanism through parliamentary committees, commissions and parliamentary friendship groups. Signed by the Chairman of the State Duma.

In his opening remarks, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq noted that he has a long-standing friendship with Volodin Vyacheslav Viktorovich, while he has been in close contact with some members of the Russian delegation for more than a decade. He also thanked Willodon for accepting the invitation to visit Pakistan.

Sardar Ayaz Sadiq thanked Mr. Viktorovich for his cooperation in convening the Speakers Conference. Both sides agreed to hold a fourth meeting in Moscow in 2025.

Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq also emphasized on increasing trade and business ties between the two countries.

It is important that the parliamentary delegation led by the Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq visited the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on Thursday where the two leaders met at the invitation of their counterpart Vyacheslav Volodin. A private meeting, followed by delegation level discussions.
