A girl belonging to India’s Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) was arrested in Forward Kahota for entering Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) illegally and without a visa.
The girl, identified as Fatima, reached Azad Jammu and Kashmir after illegally crossing the Line of Control (LoC) on the promise of marriage.
Acting on a tip-off about the girl’s presence in the area, the police raided a house in Kairni village, took the girl into custody and initiated a First Information Report (FIR) in this regard.
According to the police, Fatima allegedly crossed the LoC to Poonch district on November 24 and married the man of her choice. Meanwhile, Imran – his friend – took the girl to his home.
The girl told the police that Imran works abroad with her brother.
He said that they were in touch with each other through phone. The police also arrested Imran for forcing the girl to cross the LoC and instigating the marriage against the will of his accomplices.
However, the local boy’s family approached the magistrate to release the couple.
In a similar incident, Anju, an Indian woman who crossed borders for love, married her Pakistani friend Nasrullah in Deer Bala, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after converting from Hinduism to Islam last year.
The couple got married in the local court of the District and Sessions Judge.
Deputy Inspector General of Malakand Division Nasir Mehmood Sati, confirming the marriage of 35-year-old Anju and 29-year-old Nasrullah, said that the woman had adopted the name of Fatima after accepting Islam.
The couple, while recording a statement under Section 164, said that they signed the marriage of their own free will.
Anju had told the court that she had come to Pakistan of her own free will and was very happy here.
