In the clip, she details how to sharpen your knives using items we have around the house. In the short video, she will cut an onion with an impressive looking knife. As the chef proceeds to use the object, he realizes that it has become blunt. She spoke in despair. Next, she demonstrates a simple trick for sharpening a knife using a ceramic mug. According to the method, all you have to do is take a mug and place it upside down. Using the edge of the mug, you rub the sharp side of the knife on it and you’re done.
Make sure to rub the knife in one direction only, repeating this motion five to six times. If the directions keep changing, rubbing will not affect the knife. Keep scrubbing with a little pressure, if you see it needs some more work, keep scrubbing until it’s done.
