A fire broke out in a dye manufacturing factory in New Karachi’s Gabol Goth on Wednesday. The fire broke out in the morning in a two-storied building in which the factory was located. The fire quickly engulfed all floors. Five fire tenders, one snorkel and one water bowser of the fire brigade reached the spot and started operations to control the fire.
As a result of the fire, cans of colored chemicals and oil inside the factory exploded, spreading panic in the area. After about three hours of continuous efforts, the fire brigade brought the fire under control. A Suzuki vehicle parked on the ground floor and ready-made goods worth lakhs of rupees were completely gutted in the fire. Fortunately, there were no casualties.
According to a fire brigade spokesman, foam with water was used to extinguish the fire due to the large amount of chemicals in the factory. Also, a fire broke out in a residential house in Khayaban Rizwan of DHA Phase VII. According to the spokesman of Rescue 1122, after receiving the emergency call, an ambulance and two fire trucks along with the rescue team were immediately dispatched to the spot.
Rescue workers tried to control the fire and rescued people trapped inside the house. The fire was eventually extinguished. A total of five people were safely evacuated from the affected home, and there were no injuries.
