While Many people enjoy Thanksgiving. Football, all NFL teams know the holiday means “Black Monday” isn’t far away.
It’s still a few weeks away, but “Black Monday” refers to the day after the final Sunday of the regular season, the day when organizations make coaching moves depending on how the season went.

Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated’s “Monday Morning Quarterback” made an appearance on “The Dan Patrick Show” where he said that seven to 10 head coaches could be fired after many franchises have tumultuous seasons.
Breyer pointed out that two head coaches, along with Dennis Allen New Orleans Saints and Robert Saleh with the New York Jets, who had already been fired midseason.

“We have two, we have the Saints and the Jets, I think we can agree that the Jags are kind of a matchup, so that’s three, Dallas seems to be going that way, that So now, you only need three more, I think it’s between seven and 10,” Breyer said.
“I don’t think it’s a record breaker or anything like that, but I think it’s somewhere between seven and ten.”
Given the teams Breyer mentioned, the Cowboys are expected to move on from head coach Mike McCarthy, whose contract expires after Week 18. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones hasn’t closed the door on a potential extension, but if Dallas doesn’t end up Strong, despite consecutive 12-5 seasons in the years leading up to 2024, it’s hard to see McCarthy returning.
After that, Duval County already has Doug Pederson out the door, as the franchise with McCarthy has been on a 2-9 season with him thus far.
Other coaches who find themselves on the hot seat include Brian Daboll (New York Giants), Matt Eberflis (Chicago Bears), Antonio Pierce (Las Vegas Raiders), and Zach Taylor (Cincinnati Bengals).
As for Daboll, Giants owner John Mara gave him a vote of confidence, saying he didn’t expect any changes this offseason, including GM Joe Schoen’s. Despite a 2-9 record, the Giants faced the Cowboys on Thanksgiving.
