Lahore: Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique said that quality education facilities are being provided in medical institutions and transparency is being ensured in the financial affairs of the medical universities of the province.
He said this while addressing the 39th syndicate meeting of Fatima Jinnah Medical University (FJMU) on Tuesday. Registrar University Professor Nadeem presented the contents of the Syndicate Agenda while the Provincial Minister ratified all the decisions of the 38th Syndicate Meeting of FJMU.
Addressing the meeting, Khawaja Salman Rafique said that Government Teaching Hospital Shahdara has been directed to further improve the financial affairs of Nursing College. He also congratulated Fatima Jinnah Medical University for achieving QS ranking. During the syndicate meeting, the annual procurement plan of FJMU and Punjab Institute of Thalassemia and Other Genetic Diseases for the year 2024-25 was approved. The statement of accounts including the revised budget of FJMU for the years 2023-24 and 2024-25 were also approved.
PEC ‘Practice Desk’ opens in UET.
The inaugural ceremony of setting up the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) Pathway to Practice Desk was held at UET here on Tuesday. PEC Chairman Engineer Waseem Nazir along with UET Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Shahid Munir inaugurated the desk. The establishment of the Practice Desk pathway aims to strengthen the relationship between PEC and UET graduates. This will not only ease the registration process for engineers but will also help in empowering new graduates and creating awareness in the field of engineering.
UET postponed the convocation.
UET Lahore has postponed the convocation of November 28 due to unavoidable reasons. A UET spokesperson said that the new date for the 31st convocation would be announced later. Meanwhile, UET’s alumni function on November 29 has also been postponed. The spokesperson said that the new date of the event will be announced later.
