LAHORE: The traffic police announced on Tuesday that motorcyclists have only three days left to benefit from the ongoing relief initiative to learn and obtain a regular driving license.
The scheme, which has seen an overwhelming public response, will end on November 30, after which a crackdown on unlicensed riders will be launched. Police urged citizens to visit licensing centers with their original ID cards to avoid legal action. According to Additional IG Mirza Farhan Baig, more than 12 lakh citizens have benefited from the special relief package of motorcycle license. Official figures show that 460,940 citizens obtained learning licenses while 764,961 obtained regular licenses.
Additionally, over 185,000 licenses were renewed during the relief period. A traffic police spokesperson stressed the urgent need for motorcyclists to take advantage of the scheme before the deadline. The spokesperson said that the 42-day validity period for learning licenses will be strictly enforced again from December 1.
