Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s ongoing brewing legal battle is taking a new twist.
On Monday, Nov. 25, Pitt was asked by a judge to produce files that, according to Jolie’s lawyer, Paul Murphy, would prove Pitt’s “abuse, lies to authorities and years of cover-up conversations.”
Documents include messages, emails and other written communications.
Pitt’s lawyers had previously argued to deny his motion, calling his demands a “sensational fishing expedition” and “broad and intrusive”.
Jolie’s legal team claims Pitt is fighting to suppress documents that Murphy says are “important evidence.”
“His actions harmed Angelina and her children and are central to this case,” the actress’ lawyer added.
“But I want to emphasize again that Angelina never wanted any of this,” Murphy continued.
“He never pressed charges, he gave up all his assets, and he’s the one who tried to sell him the business in the first place. To this day, Mr. Pitt has never been held accountable for his actions and he’s every Miraval and the winery, however, insist that she wants it over, the kids want it over, and for Mr. Pitt to focus on healing his family instead of the lawsuit. should.”
“If he doesn’t,” the lawyer added, “Angelina will defend herself in court to present the evidence necessary to prove that Pitt’s allegations are patently false.”
For the uninitiated, the now-divorced couple is in the middle of a long-running court battle centered around the Chateau Miraval estate, which produces an award-winning sparkling rosé.
