Isabelle’s approach to weight loss revolves around gradual, sustainable changes. “That’s a full 15 months and a 25 lb (11.3kg) difference!! I went through a fat loss phase for 6-8 months initially, then did a reverse diet and hung onto maintenance for another 6 months, and Then went into the second phase of fat loss for about 4 months,” he shared.

Isabelle’s journey illustrates the importance of balance, patience and enjoying life while working towards fitness goals. Here are the five tips he followed to lose 11 kg in 15 months:
High volume and high protein: A calorie deficit is key to the fat loss phase, but it doesn’t mean eating less.
Strength Training: Strength training is important during the fat loss phase in order to gain muscle and actually target fat loss (rather than just weight loss).
Steps and Cardio: I have a goal of 8k-10k steps that I hit daily! I also added cardio 2-4x per week (20-30 minute jogs or biking sessions) which helped my goals a lot!
No restrictions: I have dessert every night and go out every weekend – it stays the same whether I’m in a kit or bulk or not! You just have to add it to your tracking.
Consistency and Patience: The most important thing. It is important to stick with it to make the results long-term. I averaged a realistic fat loss goal of .5 lbs per week!!
