4 people died after drinking poisonous liquor in Phulnagar

Phulnagar: Four people died here on Saturday after consuming poisoned liquor.

According to reports, some people including Afzal, Bagh Sheikh, Rana Shera and Abdul Ghaffar bought liquor from local dealer Anil Masih. Later his condition started to deteriorate. Abdul Ghaffar was taken to Deenath Hospital from where he was referred to Jinnah Hospital in Lahore. He died during treatment at Jinnah Hospital while Afzal, Bagh Shaikh and Rana Shera were shifted to Phulnagar trauma center where they died.

After receiving information about the incident, SP Investigation Tahir Dina Nath reached the police station where he told reporters that the police had started a crackdown against the liquor sellers. He said that the police have arrested more than 15 liquor sellers and recovered huge quantity of liquor from them.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif took notice of the death of 4 people due to drinking poisonous liquor. He sought a report from the IGP.

He directed a strict crackdown to stop the production of poisonous liquor. He also directed to speed up the action to stop the sale and purchase of poisonous liquor.
