ISLAMABAD: Director General Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Ahmed Ishaq Jahangir has dismissed 35 officials for facilitating illegal migration to the human trafficking mafia and failing to perform duties.
The DG’s office confirmed that the dismissed personnel include four inspectors, 10 sub-inspectors, two assistant sub-inspectors (ASIs), five head constables and 14 constables.
Legal action has been initiated against 13 officials involved in human trafficking.
On the instructions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, actions against FIA officials involved in human trafficking related to the recent boat tragedies have been intensified.

The purpose of this internal accountability is to make the organization to purge corrupt elements and ensure justice for victims of human trafficking.
The DG stressed that accountability is critical to ending human trafficking and restoring public confidence in the agency.
