Quetta: Fifteen Levies Force personnel in Balochistan’s Khuzdar district were dismissed from their posts for failing to resist the militants and throwing down their arms.
In the notification issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Khuzdar, it has been stated that during the terrorist attack on levies station, municipal committee, NADRA offices and private bank in Tehsil Zahri of Khuzdar on January 8, Levies personnel showed cowardice and carried weapons. put terrorists.
On January 8, around 80 unidentified militants on motorcycles and vehicles entered Zahri Tehsil of Khuzdar and damaged several government buildings, including Levies Station, NADRA Office and Municipal Committee. The armed militants took hostage the Levies personnel present there, took away their weapons, government motorcycles and vehicles and escaped easily.
The Balochistan government took notice of the delayed response of the local administration and ordered an investigation. However, before the investigation was completed, Khuzdar Deputy Commissioner Yasir Iqbal Dashti dismissed the 15 levies officials saying that there was no need for an inquiry due to their obvious cowardice and dereliction of duty.
