LAHORE: The Department of Computer Science and Information Technology (CS&IT) of the University of Home Economics (UHE) Lahore organized the Computing Festival 2025, in which participants from 12 universities participated.
The event provided a platform for students to showcase their talents in various fields of computing and innovation. A total of 105 students from reputed universities participated in this fair. The competition included four separate categories focusing on coding, artificial intelligence (AI) prompts, and logo design. Dr. Aneqa, In-charge of CS&IT, University of Home Economics and Ms. Samin Fatima, Advisor, UHE Computing Society, served as moderators for the event and ensured its smooth running.
Speaking on the occasion, UHE Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Faleha Zahra Kazmi emphasized the importance of such initiatives to promote innovation and creativity among students. He highlighted that the event not only provided a platform for the participants to showcase their talents but also served as a joint effort to promote technological advancement.
Dr Kazmi said, ‘We are proud to host 12 universities at this festival, making it a hub for innovation and talent exchange.’ To honor the efforts and participation of the students, UHE distributed certificates of appreciation to all 105 participants. The event concluded with a closing ceremony attended by Dr. Tayyaba Sohail, Director of Academics and Dr. Iram Rabab, Director of Student Affairs.
PU educates students on AI education app.
The Department of Public Relations and Advertising of Punjab University recently organized a workshop focusing on educational applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Senior librarian Tauqeer Ahmed was invited as the keynote speaker. The event was attended by notable personalities like Dr. Abida Ashraf and Dr. Faiza Latif, MPhil and Masters students of the department. The aim of the workshop was to educate attendees about the use of AI in educational settings, and offer insights into its potential and practical applications.
Participants gained valuable information on how to integrate AI tools into their research and academic work. The event concluded with the distribution of certificates among the participants.
