Lahore: Chowhang Police arrested 12 members of a gang involved in kidnapping and trafficking of young children and rescued two kidnapped children.
However, one accomplice managed to escape during the operation. The arrested accused have been identified as Shahnaz, Sanai, Mushail, Ramzan, Shehbaz, Matiur Rehman, Yaqub, Inam Abbas, Fatima, Kanza, Zainab and Miraj Bibi. The accused named Inam Yaqoob escaped from the spot after evading arrest. According to the police, the rescued children were handed over to the Child Protection Bureau. A case was registered against the arrested persons. The female accused admitted to buying and selling children in the initial investigation and said that she has sold many children for Rs 23 lakh so far.
A motorcyclist was fined Rs 154,000 for 86 violations.
A traffic warden from Mughalpura area caught a motorcyclist who violated traffic rules 86 times. The motorcyclist was fined Rs 154,000, the highest ever imposed on a motorcyclist in the city. The motorcyclist ignored the helmet rule 73 times, violated the traffic signal nine times, broke the one-way rule three times, and violated the lane discipline rule once. The bike has been taken into police custody.
Three people died in separate incidents
Three people lost their lives in separate incidents across the city on Wednesday. In the first incident, the body of a 45-year-old man was found near Panj Pir Darbar in Ghaziabad police limits. The deceased, identified as Shakhawat, was allegedly a drug addict and is believed to have died of drug overdose. In another incident, a 50-year-old resident of Muzaffargarh lost his life in a traffic accident in Sunder police limits. Also, a 35-year-old man was found dead on the roadside in Manga Mandi police area.
